CIARI – Centre for Investigation and Analysis in International Relations is a non-profit institution, endowed with juridical personality, which promotes reflection and investigation in International Relations.

Integrated by a young qualified team, CIARI starts its activity in May of 2001, it has operated during two years as an non-formalized institution and it was juridical constituted in June of 2003.

CIARI is today, a meeting platform of a community of scholars, professionals and interested persons in International Relations. It has a receptive posture to collaborators and contributions from academic and professional origins in several knowledge fields and privileged a transversal and multidisciplinary action in order to get more complete results.

Througt the site and events, Ciari intents to follow the theoretical production in International Relations area and it has woken up a critical conscience to international political affairs forgotten by media agendas.

Action Areas

CIARI has three main action fields: site dynamics, events organization, and promote academic investigation.

1. The site is the most important communication element and discloses a text collection produced by an investigators community.

2. CIARI organizes events, with a monthly periodicity, about themes embraced by International Relations and External Portuguese Politics. They are divided in two moments: an oral exposition by a specialized speaker and a constructive discussion between participants and orientated by a moderator.

3. The third field is the promotion of academic investigation and the projection of its results. This way, CIARI has been promoting the production of straight and rightness knowledge and its dissipation through academic community and specially society.
